Swifts, orchids, a soldier sparrow and meadows are amongst this week’s highlights in Unforgettabubble. Here is the week 18th – 24th June 2017, in pictures.     As the temperatures head into the 30s, I spend much of my spare time in the garden trying to cool down. As a result, I see that the Swifts have finally moved back in after their winter trip away and are nesting in our…

Welcome to ‘What’s in the box?’, a regular feature that looks at what has been recorded over the previous month. My moth trap is homemade (albeit not by me!) and contains egg boxes for moths to huddle into and a bright light to attract the moths. I set it up as and when the weather permits and the usual plan is to position it in the garden at Bubble…

23rd – 29th April, 2017….the week in pictures

Colourful Kingfishers and strutting Pheasants, a bossy Blackbird, an extra mouth to feed and a moth shaking his booty are amongst this week’s highlights in Unforgettabubble. I wouldn’t say that we had four seasons in one day but we certainly had four seasons in one week. With hail, snow, heavy rain, April showers, wind, sun and cloud, it was certainly changeable. Begs the questions….what to wear? Brolly or no brolly?…

A week in the Bubble – in pictures

Here is the week 9th – 15th April, 2017 in pictures…..     Sunrays cut through the base of the forest whereas, further up the tree canopy, it’s getting greener       Playing shadows with the dog in the sunshine on…
